Margarita's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina Huntsville, TX
Beef Chili relleno-$8.29

Excellent!!!  I really liked this Chili Relleno.  Very nice balance of  Poblano, batter, stuffing and topping.  The flavors of each were distinct and complimented one another with each bite.  The menu states that they use real cheese and natural flavorings and it really shows.  I will most definately be stopping  in Huntsville again soon for another one of these.  As a Texan raised on a diet of  great Tex-Mex food, I couldn't help but notice the other delicious looking menu items being served to the diners around me. Next time I will come extra hungry.
I rate this Great Chili Relleno 4.5 Stars

Casa Morales-Lufkin Texas
Cheese Chili Relleno $8.95
The chili is fair once you get past the "Ball Park" style processed cheese that was used as a filling and topping.  The watery cheese ruined the relleno in my opinion.  It was edible but I won't be stopping here when I am in the mood for a really good Chili Relleno.  I opted out of the bean and rice sides.                      I give it 2 Stars.

Mamacitas Mexican Restaurant-The Woodlands, Texas
Beef Chili Relleno-$11.95
Pretty Darn Good!!!  I chose the Beef Chili Relleno (as I usually do) a Poblano pepper smothered in Chili sauce and Jack cheese.  The batter was light and tasty.  The chili was stuffed with beef that did not overwhelm the taste of the Poblano pepper.  The chili sauce is a nice addition.  I will most definately be ordering this dish again.
As a side note: the service and atmosphere was excellent!
I give it 4 Stars- One Great Chili Relleno!!!

Cantina Laredo-Grapevine Texas
Chile Relleno form Cantina Laredo in Grapevine Texas.  I had the Poblano pepper with a nicely seasoned Picadillo filling of beef, almonds and raisins.($14.29).  Excellent.  The pepper was stuffed "Texas Style".  The battered outside was just right.  It was thin and did not overwhelm the Relleno.  The almonds and raisins added an interesting hint of sweetness.   Cantina Laredo also offers a mild green salsa that is very unique and is great with chips or as a sauce for your entree. I will most definately order this dish again.  I give it a rating of 3.5 Stars

Texas Best Chili Rellenos

Here is the first entry in my search for the "Best Chili Relleno in Texas"
This is a nice ground beef chili relleno ordered from the ala cart menu at El Tiempo on Montrose St. in Houston Texas. ($8.99) The chili is filled with a very tasty combination of finely ground beef, onion, potato, delicious seasoning then deep fried.  The outer crust was a little thicker than I liked but did not ruin the juicy chili and stuffing inside.I enjoyed it and would order it again.  I give it 3 out of 5 Stars.
